Welcome to The Atlantic Council of Canada
The Atlantic Council of Canada (ACC) is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organization, founded in 1966 to promote knowledge and understanding of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in Canada.
The ACC’s vision is to promote the critical importance in cultural, security, and economic terms of the transatlantic relationship among Canada, the United States and the nations of Europe and be the premier sponsor and supporter of NATO in Canada.
The ACC is a registered charitable organization dependent for its operating funds on membership fees, business, personal donations, and sponsorships. Click on the Sponsorship tab for details. A charitable receipt for tax purposes will be sent promptly to any donor.

2010 Spring Conference
“Minimizing Conflict in the Race for Natural Resources: Securing Economic Stability in the 21st Century”
It will be held at the Ignatieff Theatre of Trinity College of the University of Toronto.

Tribute Dinner
Introducing it’s Annual Award for Exceptional Contribution to International Peace and Security in 2007. Each year, the award recognizes a Canadian who has made a significant contribution to international peace and security, and to furthering the values the founding members set forth in the North Atlantic Treaty: “to safeguard the freedom, common heritage and civilization of their peoples, founded on the principles of democracy, individual liberty and the rule of law. The award consists of a citation and a financial contribution made in the name of the recipient to the Sarahim School for Exceptional Children in Kabul, Afghanistan, established by Lieutenant-Commander Albert Wong.
This year the tribute dinner will be held on May 18 at Seeley Hall, Trinity College University of Toronto. The recipient of this years award has yet to be announced.
Annual General Meeting
The next Annual General Meeting will be held on June 10, 2010, at 6:00 p.m. in the 4th floor Conference Room ofthe Dominion of Canada General Insurance Company Building at 165 University Avenue, just north of St. Andrew subwaystation. The business meeting will be followed by a presentation by Sgt. Peter Moon, Public Affairs Ranger for 3rd CanadianRanger Group at Canadian Forces, Base Borden. Sgt. Moon is currently participating in an Arctic Sovereignty Patrol andhas participated in a number of them in the past. He will be talking to us about these patrols and his experiences. Refreshments will be available from 5:30 p.m. Please let us know by June 8, whether you will be attending. You arewelcome to bring a guest.
November 19, 2009 – NATO 60th Anniversary Gala
The Atlantic Council of Canada, Ambassador of Albania and Council General of the Czech Republic co-hosted a Gala to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the NATO and 100 years of the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade. In honour of their contribution to the economic and social development of Central and Eastern European countries and spirit of NATO’s Article 2, awards were presented to Abdel F. Badwi, Jim Balsillie, Sonja & the late Tom Bata and Peter Munk.
