Tribute Dinner
The Atlantic Council of Canada introduced its Annual Award for Exceptional Contribution to International Peace and Security in 2007. Each year, the award recognizes a Canadian who has made a significant contribution to international peace and security, and to furthering the values the founding members set forth in the North Atlantic Treaty: “to safeguard the freedom, common heritage and civilization of their peoples, founded on the principles of democracy, individual liberty and the rule of law. The award consists of a citation and a financial contribution made in the name of the recipient to the Sarahim School for Exceptional Children in Kabul, Afghanistan, established by Lieutenant-Commander Albert Wong.
This year the tribute dinner will be held on May 18 at Seeley Hall, Trinity College University of Toronto. The recipient this year is Captain (Ret’d) Trevor Greene.
